The DOMXML library of functions also includes a XPATH class. XPath is a language for addressing parts of an XML document, designed to be used by both XSLT and XPointer. XPath
gets its name from its use of a path notation as in URLs for navigating through the hierarchical structure of an XML document.
This test uses a simple script to test the
domxml_open_file function, 'domxml_open_file()', the xpath_new_context function, 'xpath_new_context()', the xpath_eval function, 'xpath_eval()', the first_child function,
'first_child()', the node_values function, 'node_values()', and the get_content function, 'get_content()'
The test is successful if the correct information (as detailed in the
test itself) is displayed in the red boxes.
